GSE’s Emma Harrison to Chair Conference Session on Marine Electrical and Control Systems Safety and Design
SYKESVILLE, Md. – September 25, 2013 – Emma Harrison, UK Business Projects Director for GSE Systems Inc. (NYSE MKT: GVP), will chair a conference session titled “System Design Supporting Safe Systems” at the 2013 Marine Electrical and Control Systems Safety Conference (MECSS), held October 2 and 3 at Marine Establishment Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The session will take place between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on day one of the conference.
Ms. Harrison will lead four discussions on topics related to marine system safety and design including shipboard system reliability, all electric ships dependable design, influence of the arc flash hazard on ship design and operation, and investigation of fault behavior and protection strategies for future DC zonal electrical architectures.
In addition, GSE’s Business Development Director, Stuart Harrison, will present a paper titled “The Case for Simulation and Visualization-Based Training” on Thursday, October 3 at 9:30 a.m. Part of the Training and Awareness session, Mr. Harrison’s presentation will address the benefits of simulation and visualization tools for training operators and engineers on marine electrical and control systems.
MECSS, the first controls and electrical systems conference of its kind, aims to share best practices and new ideas for increasing safety and reliability in the marine industry through the use of software and electrical technology.
